Christopher Heyerdahl best known as ancient Volturi vampire Marcus in the Twilight movies has been cast to play recurring character Dieter Braun in the upcoming return of True Blood season 5 this coming summer June 2012 . Many has been wondering if that was the character Christopher Meloni would be playing, but his role is still a mystery.

An HBO spokesperson confirms to The Hollywood Reporter that Christopher Heyerdahl is joining True Blood’s fifth season as one of the five members of the Vampire Authority. He’ll be playing another ancient vampire on True Blood, but with a decidedly more adult theme. Members of the Vampire Authority are the highest ranking beings in vampire society.
